The Guma Tåga (House of Taga) N690 Nabåha is my pocket knife tribute to one of the most powerful cultural landmarks in the Marianas: Guma Tåga (House of Tåga) on Tinian, CNMI — known as the largest latte house site in the Marianas.

Latte stones weren’t decorations. They were the foundation of Chamorro homes — built from two parts: the haligi (pillar) and tåsa (capstone). At Guma Tåga, those pillars stood around 15 feet tall. That scale is a reminder of the engineering, strength, and pride our ancestors carried.

The Artwork (and why it’s on this knife)

The artwork on this Nabåha is based on a historic 19th-century depiction tied to the Freycinet expedition (1819) — when French explorer Louis Claude de Freycinet visited the Marianas and his draftsman/artist Jacques Arago documented scenes from our region, including Guma Tåga.

So this isn’t just “cool art.”
It’s a visual time capsule — a bridge from:

Ancient Chamorro architecture → early historical documentation → modern island craftsmanship.

This is me carrying culture forward in a way you can actually use every day.
