The 2026 Sengsong Linala Taktak is a limited-edition heavy-duty cleaver inspired by the old village life of the Marianas — the proa moving across the water, latte stone homes along the shoreline, the coconut tree, the river meeting the sea, and the people living and working together through inafa’maolek.

This design is personal to Blades By Crank. Born on Guam and raised in Saipan, Frank wanted to create a piece that represents the Marianas as a whole — Guam, Luta, Tinian, Saipan, and our people throughout the diaspora.

The artwork is meant to be more than decoration. It is a storytelling piece — something you can use in your kitchen, display in your home, give as a meaningful gift, and use to teach the next generation about where we come from.

Built to Work

The Taktak is made for serious kitchen use. Its wide 6.5" German stainless-steel blade gives you the weight, balance, and control needed for chopping, slicing, dicing, and heavy-duty food preparation.

Forged from authentic stainless steel produced in Krefeld, Germany, the blade is heat treated to approximately 56–58 HRC for a balance of toughness, edge retention, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance.

Paired with a durable G10 handle, the Sengsong Linala Taktak is built to handle moisture, temperature changes, and repeated use while maintaining a secure and comfortable grip.

The river, shoreline, and ocean remind us how closely life in the Marianas has always been connected to the land and sea.
