Now before you think I’m tryna be Rambo or a ninja or something… relax. 😂
I don’t carry it to look cool or scare people. I carry it because it’s useful. Like, super useful.
Let me break it down real simple—like I’m explaining this to my own kids (which I do all the time).
🔪 A Knife is a Tool. Not a Weapon.
There’s this big idea that if someone has a knife, it means they’re dangerous or up to no good.
But that’s not true for most of us.
I carry a knife like some people carry a screwdriver or pliers—it’s a tool. That’s it.
🧰 What I Use My Knife For
Let me give you real examples of what I use my knife for every single week:
- Cutting zip ties on gear or boxes
- Opening packages (you know, all those Amazon boxes 😅)
- Slicing fruit for my kids when we’re at the beach or hiking
- Peeling mangos, cutting spam, or opening snack packs
- Trimming fishing line or rope when I’m outdoors
- Cutting off loose threads or tags on clothes
- Helping in emergencies, like if I ever had to cut a seatbelt in a car accident
I’m not out here doing backflips or sneaking around in the dark. I’m a dad, a coach, and a business owner. And having a shinarp blade on me just makes life easier.
🧠 Common Misconceptions (aka Stuff People Get Wrong)
Here’s what some people think when they see someone carrying a knife:
-
“They’re dangerous!”
– Nope. I’m more dangerous to a box of fruit snacks than a person. -
“You must live in the jungle or hunt.”
– I mean... I do live on an island, but I’m not cutting coconuts all day. It’s for everyday stuff. -
“Knives are only for self-defense.”
– That’s not why I carry mine. I carry it to be helpful, not harmful.
🙌 Why You Should Consider Carrying One Too
You don’t need to be a martial artist or a chef to carry a good EDC (Everyday Carry) knife. You just gotta want to be prepared.
Carrying a knife:
- Saves time
- Solves small problems quickly
- Makes you more self-reliant
- Helps in unexpected situations
And when you carry a knife from Blades By Crank, you’re not just carrying a tool—you’re carrying a piece of island pride. I designed every knife with purpose, performance, and culture in mind. That’s why we say:
Stay SHINARP. Stay ready.
